The AVCA All-America Watch List is for the top rising Seniors who have received external recognition for their outstanding volleyball play. For example, these athletes must have received some type of recognition such as, but not limited to: All-District, All-Region, All-State, PrepVolleyball Ranking List, USAV HP Team, etc. In order for an athlete to be named to the AVCA High School All-America List, their high school coach must be an active AVCA Member.

AVCA ALL-AMERICA AWARDS

On November 8th, 2023, the AVCA announced three teams of 50 All-Americans and another 150 athletes as All-American Honorable Mention for a total of 300 athletes selected. The All-Region Teams are composed of the top 50% of nominated players from each Region.
The formal nominations for the AVCA All-America Awards and the AVCA Best and Brightest Awards opened on October 6, 2923 and closed on October 18, 2023. These included a stats submission via MaxPreps as well as a form submission on the AVCA website. More information can be found by following this link.
AVCA BEST & BRIGHTEST AWARD

The AVCA Best & Brightest Award is meant to honor individual High School Senior athletes who excel on and off the court. The nomination for this will be included in the All-American nomination form as an optional additional section. Coaches can elect to nominate athletes for All-American Awards without nominating an athlete for the Best and Brightest Award, and must have consent from the athlete to share their GPA via the nomination form.
In order to be eligible for the Best and Brightest Award, Senior athletes must earn at least a 3.0 Unweighted/3.5 Weighted GPA (or the equivalent, if using a different GPA scale) during their Junior year AND play in 50% of their Varsity team’s sets during their Senior season.
Some additional tiers of recognition apply:
• AVCA Best and Brightest First Team: 3.8 Unweighted GPA or above
• AVCA Best and Brightest Second Team: 3.65 Unweighted GPA or above
• AVCA Best and Brightest Third Team: 3.5 Unweighted GPA or above
2023 AVCA HIGH SCHOOL ALL-AMERICAN TIMELINE
• Friday, October 6th – Online nominations for AVCA High School All-America & AVCA Best and Brightest open at 8:00 am (ET)
• Wednesday, October 18th – Online nominations for AVCA High School All-America close at 5:00 pm (ET)
• Wednesday, October 18th – High School Coach of the Year nomination forms due to AVCA Office at 5:00 pm (ET)
• Wednesday, October 25th – Best & Brightest Lists Announced
• Wednesday, November 1st- All-Region Teams Announced
• Wednesday, November 8th – Girls’ High School All-America Teams announced
